A new card
for every merchant.
One quiet name
on your statement.
Cloak is a Canadian payments layer for everyday spending. Generate a fresh card number for each merchant, lock it to a single charge or a monthly limit, and let every transaction roll up under one neutral name on your bank statement — ours.
Most platforms know everything you bought.
We made sure your bank doesn't.
What your bank sees
- One merchant on your statement: Cloak.
- One descriptor, one city, one phone number.
- The amount, and the date you funded it.
- Nothing about where you spent it.
What the merchant sees
- A card number we generated for them, alone.
- An expiry, a CVV, a Canadian billing postal code.
- Nothing tied to your real card.
- Nothing tied to anyone else you've ever paid.
We hold what Canadian regulators require us to hold — your identity, encrypted, behind split-key custody, never for sale and never linked to your spending behaviour. Everything else, we decided not to collect.
How a card on Cloak actually works.
Open an account, quietly.
Verify once with the documents Canadian law requires, and we file them away under split-key custody. From then on, you're an account number to us. Fund from any Canadian bank account; we never see what you do with it.
Generate a card for every merchant.
One tap creates a fresh sixteen-digit card number, locked to a merchant of your choosing and a limit you set. Single-use, monthly, or open-ended. The merchant sees a stranger; you see exactly one charge land where you expect it.
Spend without leaving a paper trail.
Every charge — from any merchant, anywhere on the internet — settles back to your funding account as a single line: Cloak · Toronto. Same name on every entry. Your statement stops being a story anyone else can read.
Two ways to belong.
One that actually makes sense.
For members who want to feel out the platform without committing. Everything you need to put a quiet line between you and the merchants you pay.

Bring someone in. Make the place yours.
Cloak is invitation-only on purpose. Each member holds a small number of invites; pass one to someone you'd actually want at the table.
When the person you brought stays, you both become part of The Ring — the loose lattice of members who keep this platform small enough to mean something.
For you
One free year of The Annual for every three invitees who stay past their first quarter.
For them
Their first year at half — and a place in The Ring of their own, three invites included.
From somewhere.
And we think that matters.
We built Cloak in Toronto, under Canadian law, because a payments product that asks you to trust it with something private should be willing to say exactly where it lives and who it answers to.
We are a federally incorporated Canadian company. We bank in Canada. We hold a Money Services Business registration with FINTRAC. We file under PIPEDA. We pay our taxes in Ontario. We are, in the end, from somewhere — not a holding company in a place no one can find on a map.
